Program Location – Jabal Al-Lweibdeh, Amman
Our intensive Arabic courses are held at Badr Ad Din Zaza, 11190 Amman, the capital of Jordan, where participants can experience the richness of Jordanian culture and daily life. To further enhance your experience and provide deeper engagement and cultural understanding, we organize visits to Jordanian universities, factories, and with local families.
Our program is located in Jabal Al-Lweibdeh, one of the most important neighborhoods in Amman. This area is distinguished by its central location in the capital, approximately a 15-minute walk from downtown and west of the Abdali district, home to Abdali Boulevard, the largest modern market in Jordan.

Jabal Al-Lweibdeh attracts diverse groups of people, including Arabs and Westerners, who come to enjoy the neighborhood’s social life and cultural energy. It is considered the cultural and social center of Amman and is home to numerous art galleries and tourist bazaars. The area also offers many cafes and restaurants serving both local and international food.
Many foreigners who come to Jordan to work or study choose to live in Jabal Al-Lweibdeh, as they find it a peaceful and comfortable place that blends modern life with Jordanian culture and the history of the region. Every street and building in the neighborhood features murals with meaningful stories, and many of its streets are bustling with visitors who consider Al-Lweibdeh their favorite spot in Amman because it reflects the fragrance of the past and the charm of traditional Jordanian life.
Variety of Arabic Dialects Offered
With approximately 376 million speakers worldwide, the Arabic language is found across diverse geographic and cultural regions. There are around 25 distinct Arabic dialects. Because dialects can differ significantly, we recommend carefully choosing a dialect to study. If you are unsure of which dialect you would like to speak, think about which region you would like to engage with, study, or visit. For absolute beginners, we generally recommend Modern Standard Arabic or Levantine Arabic, which is widely understood in many Arabic-speaking countries.
Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), also known as Fushā, is a dialect understood in all Arabic-speaking countries. However, the dialect itself is not spoken in daily life. Instead, MSA is used in formal written communication, such as literary or journalistic works. Because this dialect can be more challenging to learn, unless you have a specific goal to read literature or study Arabic academically, we recommend learning a spoken dialect.
Here is a complete list of the dialects we offer in our Arabic Winter Immersion Course in Jordan:
- Levantine Colloquial Arabic (Ammiyya Arabic)
- Shami or Palestinian Arabic (Ammiya dialect)
- Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
- Classical Arabic (Fusha—formal literary Arabic)
- A mixed program (MSA, Palestinian Arabic, and Levantine Colloquial Arabic)

Course Intensity Options
All Winter Arabic Courses come in three intensity levels. Regardless of whether you’re a beginning or advanced learner, you can choose from a non-intensive, intensive, or super-intensive course. The course intensity determines the frequency of classes, as well as their level of immersion and out-of-classroom coursework.
1. Non-Intensive Arabic Course
Ideal for students who want to combine study with leisure or a long-term stay. Designed to provide students with ample classroom immersion while allowing them plenty of time to explore the city of Damascus.
- ~12 lesson hours/week
- 3 days/week
We recommend that students interested in a long-term program (anywhere from 1 to 3 months) enroll in a non-intensive Arabic course.
2. Intensive Arabic Course
Designed for students seeking a balanced pace with daily practice and cultural engagement.
- 20 lesson hours/week
- 5 days/week
Intensive Arabic courses will have additional homework and out-of-classroom assignments.

3. Super-Intensive Arabic Course
Designed for students who seek a comprehensive, immersive, and high-intensity classroom experience.
- 30 lesson hours/week
- 6 hours/day, 5 days/week
Due to the demanding schedule, we recommend Super-Intensive courses for those enrolled in shorter programs (1–4 weeks).

Winter Intensive Arabic Programs
During the cold winter months, many of us can feel a bit low, but learning a new language is a great way to beat the winter blues! The Center offers intensive Arabic classes in winter, providing a fantastic opportunity to focus on something other than the chilly weather.
You have the flexibility to choose the intensity and duration of your Arabic classes during the winter. Your stay can range from a minimum of one week to a maximum of 13 weeks. The longer you stay, the more Arabic you’ll learn, which can make facing the winter much easier and more enjoyable!
Study Arabic In A Small Group
Do you find it difficult to study in big groups? You’ll have the choice of learning Arabic in a group (1 or 3 students) or in one-on-one independent settings. No matter the study environment, we look forward to having you in our Arabic class in Jordan!
Traveling to Jordan
Flying is the easiest and most common way to reach Jordan. Most international travelers arrive at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) near Amman, which is well-connected to major cities worldwide via airlines like Royal Jordanian, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Emirates. There’s also a smaller airport in Aqaba (King Hussein International Airport) for some regional and budget flights.

Many nationalities can get a visa on arrival, or you can use the Jordan Pass, which waives the visa fee if you stay at least three nights and includes entry to major sites like Petra.
